We are seeking a Lead Operator for our KBA Offset Print machine at Solidus. This role offers a challenging position within a dynamic and ambitious international organization that is constantly evolving. Our organization features flat hierarchies and short decision-making paths, allowing direct communication with UKBU and sales directors, BU managers, vendors & suppliers, and colleagues across the UK business unit on a project-by-project basis.
Main Responsibilities
1. Lead and operate our KBA Offset Print machine to produce solid board for food packaging companies, ensuring adherence to specified quality standards.
2. Mix inks using our automated ink machine according to job order specifications.
3. Consume leftover mixed ink before preparing new batches.
4. Ensure printed quality meets the highest standards of accuracy, registration, and clarity.
5. Clean the machine thoroughly between orders and at the end of each day, including rollers, heads, and ink buckets.
6. Monitor and adjust machine running speeds to maintain efficiency and meet targets.
7. Coordinate with the Design team regarding any issues or potential design changes to artwork.
8. Report tooling damages or upgrade needs to the Supply Chain and Design teams.
9. Work with the Production Manager to achieve KPI targets related to quality, waste, speed, output, efficiency, and OEE.
10. Perform weekly routine maintenance and cleaning to uphold high BRC standards, including working with the engineering team to grease and replace worn parts.
11. Learn and operate other process lines and machines such as die cutters, folder gluers, and laminators as part of training and development plans.
