This is a Cambridge based role, so candidate must be based in Cambridge or surrounding areas.
As a key member of the Firm's national New Business sales team, this is a great opportunity to join a cutting edge professional services sales environment with the core purpose of initiating and developing relationships and driving growth with target businesses and clients alike, through a UK wide best-in-class New Business sales programme.
You will build a strong network within the firm and in the external market by creating a personal brand that makes you and the firm distinctive, compelling and credible with C-Suite level buyers, whichever industry sector or market segment they sit in.
Based from our Cambridge office and with a primary focus on private business (both privately owned and private equity backed businesses), you will spend circa 80% of your time ‘making’ that market, be it identifying targets, generating and attending client meetings, building a pipeline of opportunities or converting sales.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for an experienced and inspiring client centric Manager level candidate to join the SE Region Sales team. You will be able to demonstrate a track record of building strong relationships with key decision makers, ideally within the Private Business and mid-market, and you will be comfortable talking to new and existing clients about a wide range of business issues to cultivate new business opportunities for the Firm.
You will use your sales expertise and knowledge of our products and services to convert new business opportunities that will deliver sustainable and profitable growth for the firm.
The successful candidate must possess the experience and professionalism to be credible in the market, as well as to challenge and influence senior management internally, and be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the strategic business drivers for PwC.
Key responsibilities
1. Secure meetings with cold and warm targets and attend / facilitate those meetings, bringing energy, enthusiasm, knowledge and insight.
2. Understand client needs to drive new business origination, build and progress a personal pipeline of opportunities and establish connections to relevant expertise within the Firm.
3. Take the right people with the right ideas at the right time to help clients and target organisations solve their biggest and most important problems and help them exploit their biggest opportunities.
4. Connect multidisciplinary practice teams to strengthen existing client relationships, create new ones and expand our remit on new accounts.
5. Upskill service delivery teams on the firm’s refreshed sales methodology and become a trusted advisor for sales excellence.
6. Be the go-to person in the SE region for knowledge and insight by staying close to both the market and our teams who own the firm’s go-to-market propositions.
7. Build relationships with intermediaries and 3rd parties where needed (e.g. lawyers and banks), to ensure you are embedded with the key players and influencers in the SE regional market ecosystem.
Required skills & experience
8. Tangible track record on meeting and exceeding sales targets in a market facing role.
9. Clear understanding of client opportunities and risks across the private market – in particular fast growth/scale up business, those that are backed by Private Equity and Family owned business.
10. Ability to conduct ‘human-led, tech-enabled’ conversations with clients or target businesses with confidence.
11. Experienced in a business to business sales environment with the ability to position services and solutions in a professional services environment or similar industry.
12. Ability to build a strong internal network and leverage effectively to optimise personal reach across the firm.
13. High levels of commercial acumen.
14. A team player who naturally collaborates with others and can effectively navigate a matrix organisation.
15. Strong influencing and coaching skills.

This role sits within the Regions element of our Sales capability, part of Sales and Marketing, PwC’s centralised support function. Our Sales and Marketing business unit covers all aspects of professional services marketing, sales support and business development.
