About Chalk Farm Housing Group (CFHG) Chalk Farm Housing Group (CFHG) is a long-established Tenant Management Organisation (TMO) responsible for managing 273 Council and Leasehold dwellings at Ferdinand Estate, London NW1 on behalf of Camden Council. The organisation is run by a Management Board composed of elected and co-opted residents. The Board seeks the support, guidance, and expertise of an experienced manager to lead CFHG’s operations and continue delivering high-quality services to our community. The successful candidate will possess a combination of social housing expertise, leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the importance of resident empowerment. Job Purpose As the Estate Manager at CFHG, you will play a pivotal role in working with the CFHG Management Board to develop and deliver our strategic vision and corporate strategy. You will provide guidance on good governance practices and ensure effective oversight of the organisation’s financial health and housing service delivery. You will be responsible for managing and leading the CFHG staff to ensure the continued success of our housing services, while maintaining a high standard of customer care and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Development & Delivery: Work closely with the CFHG Management Board to develop and implement CFHG’s strategic vision, business plan, and corporate strategy. Governance & Financial Oversight: Advise the CFHG Board on best governance practices. Ensure that Board members receive timely and accurate financial information to make informed decisions and maintain CFHG’s financial viability. Service Delivery: Lead the team in delivering high-quality housing services within budget, with a strong emphasis on value for money and exceptional customer service. Leadership & Staff Management: Provide leadership and direction to CFHG’s office staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment to ensure the delivery of excellent housing services. Public Profile & Community Engagement: Maintain and enhance CFHG’s reputation as a provider of high-quality housing services through proactive community engagement and effective communication. About You The successful candidate will possess: Social Housing Knowledge: A strong understanding of the social housing sector, particularly in the context of tenant management organisations. Budget & Financial Management: Experience in managing budgets, financial planning, and providing financial oversight to ensure value for money and long-term financial stability. Leadership & Management Skills: Excellent leadership, management, and people skills to effectively manage staff, and guide the team in achieving CFHG’s goals and working closely with HR team. Excellent Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and presenting complex information in an accessible way. Time Management & Organisational Skills: Excellent organisational and time management abilities to ensure that priorities are met and deadlines are adhered to. Commitment to Resident Involvement: A strong commitment to resident-led management, empowering tenants and involving them in decision-making processes. IT Skills: Proficiency in the use of IT systems, including experience with housing management software, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), and the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies as required for the role.
