Primary duties and key responsibilities Clinical Supervision Provide expert clinical supervision to nursing staff, health care assistants and trainee nurse associates. Practice Development Lead initiatives to enhance clinical practice within the hospice setting, including the development and implementation of evidence based policies, procedures and protocols. Education and Training Develop and deliver educational programs and workshops to ensure staff competency in hospice care practices, pain management, symptom control, end of life care and communication skills. To support visiting students and provide liaisons with colleges and universities. Quality Improvement Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to assess, monitor, and improve the quality of care provided to patients and those most important to them. Clinical Expertise Serve as a resource and mentor to nursing staff, providing consultation on complex patient cases, pain management strategies, symptom control interventions and ethical dilemmas. Leadership Demonstrate leadership in promoting a culture of excellence, compassion and dignity in end of life care. Foster a supportive and collaborative work environment that values teamwork, professional growth and continuous learning. Community Engagement Participate in community outreach efforts to promote awareness of hospice services, provide education to healthcare professionals and community members, and establish collaborative working partnerships with other healthcare organisations. Documentation and Compliance Ensure adherence to regulatory standards, accredited requirements and best practices in hospice care documentation, record keeping and compliance.
