Optima Plus Recruitment is seeking an experienced and dedicated Consultant in Respiratory Medicine on behalf of a leading hospital in East Midlands. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to contribute to the continued development of respiratory medicine services, delivering high-quality patient care while being supported by a team of skilled professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Duties
* Provide high-quality respiratory medicine services, ensuring excellent patient care.
* Undertake outpatient and inpatient respiratory clinics, including subspecialty interests where appropriate.
* Contribute to the delivery of a responsive and efficient respiratory service, including lung function tests, bronchoscopy, and pleural procedures.
* Lead in the management of patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions, including asthma, COPD, lung cancer, and interstitial lung diseases.
* Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and collaborate with other departments to ensure integrated care.
Teaching & Research
* Support junior medical staff and actively engage in medical education and training.
* Contribute to clinical research and service development projects where appropriate.
* Encourage innovation in service delivery and maintain high standards in clinical governance.
Essential Requirements:
* GMC specialist registration or within six months of attaining a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) at the time of interview.
* Demonstrable experience in respiratory medicine, including inpatient and outpatient management.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
Desirable Criteria:
* Higher degree (MD/PhD) or equivalent academic qualifications.
* Level 1 accreditation in thoracic ultrasound.
* Experience in service improvement initiatives within respiratory medicine.
