2nd Line Technical Engineer
London city office with client site in Cambridge.
Up to £45,000 (DOE)
A renowned specialist IT Managed Service Provider (MSP) based in central London is looking for a dedicated 2nd Line On-site Engineer to support a key client in Cambridge. This role offers an opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies across both Mac and Windows OS, providing top-notch service to some of the UK's leading financial institutions.
Key Skills and Experience:
1. Strong technical background with expertise in Microsoft (1st choice) and Mac (2nd choice) environments.
2. Extensive experience in supporting and managing primarily Mac-based environments, both remotely and on-site.
3. Proficiency in maintaining and administering cloud-based solutions, Microsoft Azure, and Office 365, with the ability to automate processes to reduce manual effort.
4. Experience in administering Local Area Networks (LANs), including switches and access points, is advantageous.
5. Proven track record in providing desk-side support to senior executive-level end-users.
Role and Responsibilities:
6. Provide desk-side and remote support to troubleshoot issues with equipment and systems.
7. Deliver end-user technical support, workarounds, and resolutions within Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
8. Support multi-function devices, telephony equipment, and specialized IT equipment, escalating issues to relevant vendors/support functions as needed.
9. Administer and maintain Active Directory, user accounts, group policies, and file access control according to agreed standards.
10. Develop and maintain comprehensive technical site documentation, including asset inventory, change management processes, and cybersecurity policies.
