Management Accounts Assistant

Aligra, on behalf of our esteemed client, is seeking a Management Accounts Assistant to join their vibrant team in Loughborough.
Your Role:
As a Management Accounts Assistant, you will be a pivotal part of the finance team, helping drive the financial health and stability of the company. Your role will encompass a variety of responsibilities that require precision, analytical skills, and a proactive approach.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assisting in the Preparation of Management Accounts: Collaborate closely with the finance team to support the preparation of monthly management accounts. Ensure accuracy and timeliness in reporting, contributing to informed decision-making.
2. Financial Data Analysis: Conduct detailed analysis of financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement. Present findings to the management team to facilitate strategic planning.
3. Budget Monitoring and Reporting: Assist in monitoring budgets, preparing variance reports, and providing insights into budgetary performance. Ensure compliance with financial policies and identify opportunities for cost savings.
4. Reconciliation of Accounts: Perform regular reconciliations of key accounts, ensuring consistency and resolving discrepancies promptly. Maintain accurate financial records to support the integrity of financial reporting.
5. Supporting Year-End Processes: Aid in the preparation of year-end accounts and liaise with auditors as required. Ensure all documentation is complete and accurate, assisting in smooth and efficient audits.
6. Enhancing Financial Processes: Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial procedures, suggesting innovative solutions to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
7. Team Collaboration: Work closely with different departments, offering financial insights and support to enhance business operations. Foster a collaborative environment that enhances team productivity and morale.
What We’re Looking For:
1. Experienced and Qualified: Ideally, you will have completed AAT Level 3/4 and possess experience in a similar role. Familiarity with accounting software and financial reporting is essential.
2. Detail-Oriented and Analytical: You have a sharp eye for detail and a knack for numbers, allowing you to analyse financial data and deliver insightful reports.
3. Proactive and Organised: Your ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and stay ahead of deadlines sets you apart. You’re always looking for ways to improve processes and add value.
4. Excellent Communicator: Strong interpersonal skills enable you to convey complex financial information clearly and concisely to non-financial stakeholders.
Shifts and Pay:
1. Hours of Work: 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Thursday; 8:45 am to 5:00 pm, Friday
2. Salary Range: £26,000 – £28,000 per annum (dependent on experience and study support requirements)
