We are offering an exciting opportunity for a band 4 Radiology Assistant Practitioner to join our growing friendly radiology department at Velindre Cancer Centre.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced assistant practitioner wishing to expand their knowledge and experience at a purpose-built Cancer Centre, providing world-class cancer care to the people of South East Wales.
Main duties of the job
You will provide high-quality images in accordance with Radiation Regulations and departmental protocols and procedures. You will be required to assist the radiographic and radiology staff in performing a range of imaging procedures, ensure completion of daily workload in an efficient manner, and that all patients are well cared for. For this role, you will need to be energetic, positive, hardworking, and enthusiastic. You must have the ability to work at pace, to multi-task, and to prioritize. You will enjoy working with a range of tasks and will need to possess outstanding interpersonal and communication skills. You will be computer literate, conscientious, and able to deal with confidential and sensitive issues.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications / Knowledge
* Certificate of Higher Education in Assistant Radiographic Practice
* Knowledge and understanding of principles and concepts underpinning applications and techniques used in radiology
* Understanding of duties and responsibilities under IR(ME)R 17 and IRR 17
* Knowledge of oncology
* Evidence of CPD (continuing professional development)
Experience
* Experience of working with a range of diagnostic equipment.
* Current NHS Experience
* Experience of working with oncology patients
* Experience in venous access.
* Quality assurance
* Clinical audit
