Teaching Assistant (Full-Time) – Specialist Secondary School (SEND)
A specialist secondary school for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join its supportive team on a full-time basis. This role offers the potential to transition from a temporary to a permanent position.
The school caters to students aged 11-16, providing a nurturing and inclusive environment where every pupil is encouraged to reach their full potential. With strong community links, the school promotes academic achievement, personal growth, and social development, ensuring that students gain nationally accredited qualifications and become confident, respectful members of society.
Role Responsibilities:
* Support students with SEND, ensuring their individual needs are met in both academic and personal development.
* Work closely with teachers to deliver tailored learning support, adapting resources and strategies to engage students.
* Provide one-to-one and small-group support, fostering positive relationships and encouraging independence.
* Assist in implementing EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans) to help students achieve their learning goals.
* Promote a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment.
* Support students in developing social skills and positive behaviours in and outside the classroom.
* Collaborate with staff, parents, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for each pupil.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Experience working with children or young people with SEND, particularly in a secondary school setting.
* A patient, compassionate, and resilient nature, with the ability to build strong, trusting relationships.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* A proactive and adaptable approach to supporting students with varying needs.
* Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to create a calm, structured environment.
* A commitment to promoting independence and confidence in students.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
