We are a leading company specialising in precast concrete elements and looking for a Quality Control Engineer for a major project at our factory in London Thamesport, Isle of Grain (ME3 0EP Kent), United Kingdom.
Join a leading firm in the design, manufacture and assembly of precast, prestressed reinforced concrete structures for both civil engineering and building construction.
This role works within the Quality Team to ensure the overall quality of the manufactured products and has, among others, the following duties:
* Review ITPs, ensuring adequacy of the control points to meet specifications in terms of frequency and acceptance criteria and records.
* Keep track on and lead review of ITP to implement and complete inspections on site.
* Inspect the works where necessary and report to the manager.
* Engage with all the involved parties to agree on inspection regime.
* Ensure, as part of the self-certification processes, that adequate level of inspection are implemented and that the works comply with the contract requirements to report and manage any major issues related to nonconformities, compliance of the works.
* Liaise with production teams in the definition of remedial action for non-conformities.
* Keep track on the production of records and the population of quality record packages and review them once completed.
* Support the construction team and follow proper production of documents.
Our successful candidate would be someone who meets the following requirements:
* At least 5 years of previous experience, preferably in the precast concrete and/or construction sector.
* University degree in a related field: civil engineering, mining engineering, industrial engineering, environmental science, or similar.
* Have a valid right to work in the UK, and reside near Chatham or Rochester (Kent).
* Good team-player, communication and analysis skills, with attention to detail and initiative to pursue results/objectives autonomously.
Highly valued:
* Training and/or experience in quality management: ISO 9001, ISO 14001.
* Experience in complex civil engineering and/or building construction projects. Experience in projects involving international teams and stakeholders.
* Availability for occasional travelling as required.
