Job Description Finance Manager Manufacturing Cardiff/Hybrid £65,000 Role Overview: The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the organization’s accounting functions, ensuring that financial transactions, policies, systems, and procedures comply with regulations, accounting principles, and standards. The role includes managing the finance team to foster continuous improvement in skills, engagement, and well-being, while also contributing to strategic planning at the executive level. Responsibilities : - Team Management: Oversee the finance team, conducting regular performance reviews and ensuring high standards of employee well-being and engagement. - Strategic Development: Develop and implement accounting systems that support strategic decision-making at the executive level. - Financial Reporting: Maintain accurate financial records, prepare reports such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring senior management has timely information for decision-making. - Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax, customs regulations, and internal controls. - Budgeting and Audits: Lead the preparation of annual budgets, statutory financial statements, and external audits. - Capital and Grant Management: Monitor capital expenditure, manage grant submissions, and liaise with external stakeholders. - Operational Improvement: Challenge financial performance to drive operational improvements, evaluate processes for cost savings, and improve reporting accuracy. - Confidentiality and Support: Handle confidential information securely, support continuous improvement activities, and work collaboratively across departments. The Candidate: - Qualifications: Must hold ACCA, CIMA, or ACA qualification. - Experience: Strong experience in team management, practical application of finance functions, and building relationships with stakeholders. Experience in a manufacturing business, cash management, and internal controls is advantageous. - Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, strong communication, leadership, and time management skills. Attention to detail and ability to work under minimal supervision are essential. - Personal Qualities: Leadership abilities, high standards, strong reasoning, resilience, and a pragmatic approach are required. This role demands an individual capable of performing at a senior level, contributing significantly to business performance analysis and projections. The candidate must be comfortable working with senior management, leading a team, and driving the business forward.
