We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our forward thinking and innovative School Nursing team, which is part of the Public Health 0-19 services in Merton.
Central London Community Healthcare is seeking to recruit a highly motivated and innovative practitioner to join the School Nursing Service in Merton.
NOTE: The applicant must be a Registered Nursewith current UK NMC registration, plus a Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (SCPHN) Qualification in School Nursing.
Main duties of the job
The School Nursing service comprises of a large skill mix team, which is structured to deliver core and targeted health input through the Healthy Child Programme to all school aged children and their families.
The applicant should demonstrate leadership skills, knowledge of safeguarding and child protection processes and offer flexibility in managing their caseload.
In addition, they should have a strong public health focus and be fully committed to improving the health and wellbeing of our diverse school aged population.
In our last CQC inspection CLCH was awarded a GOOD rating, we are listed amongst the Top NHS organisations to work for by HSJ. This year, CLCH achieved UNICEF GOLD AWARD of the prestigious Baby Friendly Award in recognition of our outstanding support for breast feeding mothers. We are one of the few boroughs to offer specialist breast feeding advice from an ICBC registered lactation consultant. Merton Health Visitors and School Nurses are co-located in Children's Centre's across the borough. We have strong links with our colleagues in Early Years and the Local Authority.
