About the position:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Legal Manager to join our team and support our group Chief Administrative Officer and our UK local team. This role will manage both local and international legal matters, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and overseeing corporate governance across our operations.
Key Responsibilities
Contract Management:
Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts in both English (and French), including but not limited to international and local commercial agreements, lease agreements and franchise agreements. Ensure that all contractual obligations are aligned with legal requirements and business goals.
Compliance & Regulatory Oversight:
Handle crucial compliance matters, including GDPR, data privacy regulations, and other regulatory issues impacting the business. Stay up to date on changes to legal and regulatory frameworks and ensure the company remains compliant in all jurisdictions.
Corporate Governance & Affairs:
Oversee corporate governance matters, including board meetings, shareholder agreements, company formation, and restructuring. Ensure adherence to all applicable corporate laws and best practices in governance.
Franchise Model Support:
Provide legal support and advice in line with franchise business models, ensuring compliance with local franchise laws and guidelines.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Work closely with internal departments including HR, finance, and operations to provide comprehensive legal support across the organization.
This is what you bring on board:
* Law degree.
* 5-10 years of experience, ideally with a background in either law firms or in-house legal roles, particularly within the retail industry or franchising business models.
* Native proficiency in Legal English
* Proficiency in other Languages (French, German) is a plus
* Exposure to franchising law and knowledge of franchise agreements.
* Expertise in handling international and local contracts.
* Strong knowledge of GDPR, data privacy, and other compliance frameworks.
* Experience in cross-border legal coordination.
* Proven experience in corporate governance and corporate affairs management.
* Exceptional negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.

* High attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Proactive and problem-solving attitude with a business-minded approach.
* Availability to work from London HQ or in alternative in Paris or Antwerp
