The School of Hair, Beauty and Creative are looking for an enthusiastic and flexible person to join their team.
The successful candidate will be part of the curriculum team, working alongside teaching staff to support learning. The role requires a proactive individual to provide practical support to the staff and students in classrooms. With activities such as Ceramics, 3D Print Making, and Fashion Design Level 3 practical knowledge of these crafts will be essential.
This is a hands-on role in our workshops, supervising and coaching students whilst assisting the tutors. If you have a real flair for passing your knowledge on to others, a strong sense of responsibility, and the ability to act as a role model, this could be just the job for you.
You will support with the setup and preparation of classrooms, workshops, assessment areas and resources; working to ensure all equipment and stock is maintained and meets the needs of the students and industry requirements.
You will be able to assist students with their practical work and impart your industry experience to further develop our student’s employability skills relevant to their career goals. You will also be supporting students with their final project work.
This is a part-time term position working 25.5 hours per week at our New Bedford Road, Luton Campus, term time only 38 weeks per year.
You may be required to manage some stock and demonstrate correct and safe use of equipment to students and staff. This could include booking and allocating equipment, maintaining it or preparing it for planned practical use in lessons.
The successful candidate will promote professionalism and excellent customer service at all times. You will have a good practical knowledge of the hairdressing and beauty environment, supporting learners with developing reception and stock control and displays.
It is essential that you have a professional manner, good communication skills and are capable of interpreting technical information and explaining it clearly.
