An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 4 Nursing Associate to join Hull and East Riding Community Stroke Service. This service is provided by a multidisciplinary team comprised of Specialist Stroke Nurses, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Associate Practitioners and Administrative support. The team provides specialist stroke rehabilitation, using a goal setting approach. In-patient rehabilitation is provided via beds in our Community Stroke Unit. The successful applicant would support the nursing team in ensuring the care needs of the patients are met in within the bedded unit. The team has an innovative approach and has developed pioneering creative music making as therapy for stroke survivors, some of which has been done in conjunction with an international orchestra. This group work was suspended during Covid-19 lockdown, however, we hope to resume this in the future. Main duties of the job Mentorship and supervision are provided by the senior staff within a friendly, multidisciplinary, supportive environment. The ability to commute within the Trusts geographical area with access to the appropriate means of transport is essential.
