Job Title: Quantity Surveyor – Water
Location: Burton on Trent
Salary: up to £72k + car/car allowance

Our client is a well-established and market-leading group business focussed on engineering solutions.
With an enviable reputation in the market, due to significant growth, they now require a Quantity Surveyor to join their busy team.
They require an experienced Quantity Surveyor, ideally with expertise in the water industry, specifically within clean water and water treatment works. This role requires strong commercial awareness and the ability to manage project costs effectively while ensuring value for money and compliance with contractual obligations.
Duties
* Manage all contractual and financial aspects of water industry construction projects.
* Provide accurate measurement, valuation, and cost management.
* Preparation and submission of interim valuations, final accounts, and variations.
* Conduct cost analysis and optimise project value.
* Liaise with project teams to ensure cost-effective solutions are implemented.
* Accurate financial reporting and documentation completed in a timely fashion.
* Consult and advise on commercial and contractual matters.
* Monitor and management of project expenditure and budgets, identifying risk and opportunity.
* Negotiation of contracts, managing to ensure compliance
* Support procurement activities, including supplier negotiations and material cost analysis.
It is essential or preferrable that you have the following experience, qualifications or skills;
* 5 years' experience as a QS, ideally within the water industry.
* Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction and Commercial Management.
* Working knowledge and experience of NEC4 contracts and other standard forms of construction contracts.
* Experience in managing subcontractor accounts and supplier agreements.
* Proficient in cost control, budgeting, and financial reporting.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Strong negotiation and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* High attention to detail and strong numerical skills.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
* Proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
