Responsible for all aspects of defect yield monitoring and performance within the site. Drive defect-related wafer and test yield improvement, capacity, and system/process optimization activities in a team environment, whilst adhering to all aspects of the company’s safety procedures. Liaising effectively with other groups within the company.
Duties and responsibilities will include the following:
* Daily yield monitoring of defect SPC charts, ensure OCAPs are followed, drive improvement with relevant teams.
* Will be expected to use AIT, KLA, CAMTEK, and Dragonfly defect metrology equipment.
* Defect review/classification for lot disposition, yield correlation.
* Ensure correct documentation is in place, i.e., operating specifications, OCAPs with defect libraries.
* Weekly reporting on defect/OOC chart Pareto’s and develop improvement plans.
* Effective communication to shift personnel and other groups as required.
* Ensure M.E.S (Promis) process flows are correct through each owned equipment set.
* Implementation of defect reduction improvement projects to achieve company and group goals.
* Process qualification of new or relocated equipment.
* Ensure appropriate and robust process control checks, defect equipment controls measurement, and process control charts are in place to sustain process robustness.
* Optimize inspection recipes to meet product control plan and yield improvement requirements.
* Complete recipe matching across the defect inspection tools. Ensure inspection tools meet SPC requirements, tool SPC, calibration, MSA.
* To ensure COSHH assessments are initiated, and updates are maintained.
* Performance will be measured via Yield, Availability, Product quality, Product reliability, and Product cost metrics.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
* Degree/HND in Scientific/Engineering discipline is preferred.
Desired Skills
* Strong training skills and technical familiarity with product and processes.
* 3 years plus wafer fab, final operations experience.
* Ability to work flexible hours.
* Ability to work effectively in teams.
* Ability to empower and listen to others.
* Detailed knowledge of wafer fab manufacturing processes and systems.
* Familiar with all modern manufacturing concepts such as JIT, Kaizen, Zero Defects, SPC, TQM, and TPM.
* Experienced in driving continuous improvement activities and projects for assigned measurables.
* Highly motivated, results-oriented, customer service-oriented, with strong leadership and communication skills.
Experience on Process/Projects/Equipment:
* Ideally some level of experience and understanding of defect metrology systems and defect improvement projects.
Physical Demands
* Employee will be frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
* Typing and computer work with the ability to lift or move approximately 10 pounds.
