We are looking to appoint a French teacher to join our department working with colleagues who are committed to delivering outstanding lessons across KS3 and KS4 and potentially KS5. We also deliver language learning to our Primary school, and the candidate would be expected to teach in KS1 and 2 (with appropriate training and support). This is a one year maternity role from September 2025. We would prefer a full time teacher, but part time would be considered for exceptional candidates. The ability to teach different subjects and flexibility is a considerable advantage.
The Languages department at St Richard Reynolds Catholic College is passionate about ensuring all students study at least one language up until GCSE level resulting in a healthy uptake of French and Spanish at A-level. The curriculum is dynamic, challenging and carefully sequenced to ensure that all students make great progress, whether that be achieving a grade 5 at GCSE or an A* at A Level. French and Spanish are the modern foreign languages taught. The team has high standards of themselves and students and are collaborative in their practice. While we ask you to support our Catholic ethos, being a practising Catholic is not a requirement, we welcome applicants from any background.
We will consider applications from Early Career Teachers and those who have been teaching for some time and are looking for a new challenge/career development and who already have a track record.
In return for your commitment and passion for teaching, we offer:
• A stimulating, supportive and rewarding working environment
• Access to regular CPD sessions, focusing on learning and teaching and subject scholarship
outstanding ITT provision
• Leadership Development Programme
• Opportunities provided by being part of the Ascension Catholic Academy Trust
• A range of employee benefits including Cycle to Work Scheme, Season Ticket Loan
• Teacher pension scheme
• Cash for colleagues - Earn money for friends you recommend.
