Job summary We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated Ward Service Coordinator to join the East Block, Second Floor, Heritage Building, QEHB on a permanent basis. The department specialises in the health care of older people, (HCOP). The Ward Service Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the clinical environment is well stocked, well presented, maintained and complies with Trust cleaning standards. Main duties of the job Main Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Maintaining adequate ward stock levels: including medication stock, consumables and non-consumables, ensuring adequate supply is available, well organised and ready for use. Responsible for reviewing cleanliness and appropriate storage of all equipment. To monitor and maintain ward equipment, report any issues, and ensure they are resolved in a timely manner. To ensure correct refrigeration of mediation and food supplies in line with trust policy. Assist with the ordering of patient's meals as directed by nursing staff. To assist in the timely distribution of patient meals, drinks and supplements. Prepare supplied foods, such as breakfast items, soup etc. Ensure nursing team are aware of any meals/drink not consumed by patients, allowing correct information to be recorded on patients notes. Provide support in non-clinical duties in relation to patient needs. To maintain medical and surgical supplies, dry goods etc, in line with pre-determined levels, throughout the ward area, putting away as necessary. To ensure that all equipment and supplies are within 'use by' date and used within date order. Maintain a register of equipment, trace items loaned to other areas and ensure the return loaned items. Constant monitoring of ward furnishings ensuring they are in a good state of repair. Escalate any incidental concerns to the ward management team.
