Job Description
The UI/UX Designer gathers user requirements, designs graphic elements, and builds navigation components. Experience with design software and wireframe tools is essential. The ability to translate high-level requirements into interaction flows and artifacts, and transform them into beautiful, intuitive, and functional user interfaces is required.
Minimum Education:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Responsibilities:
1. Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with product managers and engineers.
2. Illustrate design ideas using storyboards, process flows, and sitemaps.
3. Design graphic user interface elements, like menus, tabs, and widgets.
4. Build page navigation buttons and search fields.
5. Develop UI mock-ups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how sites function and look.
6. Create original graphic designs (e.g., images, sketches, and tables).
7. Prepare and present rough drafts to internal teams and key stakeholders.
8. Identify and troubleshoot UX problems (e.g., responsiveness).
9. Conduct layout adjustments based on user feedback.
10. Adhere to style standards on fonts, colors, and images.
Skills & Competencies:
1. Excellent graphic design skills.
2. Experience creating high-fidelity mock-ups, wireframes, storyboards, user flows, and process flows.
3. Proficiency in Sketch, Figma, Illustrator, Balsamiq, or other visual design and wireframing tools.
4. Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
5. High proficiency with Adobe suite [Fireworks, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign] and/or Sketch.
6. A natural eye for design, good composition, and an obsession with details, interactions, and delighting users.
7. Wireframe design and documentation, visual designs, and mock-ups.
8. Knowledge of user research methods (usability test protocols).
9. Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
10. Proficiency with interaction design prototyping tools [InVision App].
11. Working knowledge of object-oriented design principles and design patterns.
