Procurement & Materials Manager
Six month contract with possibility of extension.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Procurement Manager to oversee our organisations procurement operations. The successful candidate will manage procurement activities, ensure the timely supply of materials, and maintain cost efficiency. This role requires strong leadership abilities, strategic thinking, and extensive experience in materials management.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct market analysis to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities.
o Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers to negotiate favorable terms and conditions.
o Materials Management:
o Oversee materials management to ensure adequate inventory levels and timely delivery of materials.
o Implement best practices for inventory control, demand planning, and materials forecasting.
o Coordinate with the production and logistics teams to align materials supply with production schedules.
o Supplier Management:
o Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability criteria.
o Conduct supplier performance evaluations and audits to ensure compliance with company standards.
o Resolve supplier-related issues and disputes in a timely and effective manner.
o Cost Management:
o Develop and manage procurement budgets to achieve cost savings and efficiency targets.
o Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
o Implement cost control measures and track procurement expenses.
o Compliance and Risk Management:
o Ensure compliance with organisation policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.
o Develop risk management strategies to mitigate supply chain risks.
o Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records and documentation.
o Team Leadership:
o Lead and mentor the team to achieve departmental goals.
o Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team skills and performance.
o Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team.
o Continuous Improvement:
o Identify and implement process improvements to enhance procurement efficiency and effectiveness.
o Utilise technology and automation tools to streamline procurement processes.
o Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging trends in procurement and materials management.
Qualifications & Skills:
* Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
* Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in procurement, with at least 3 years in a managerial role. Extensive experience in materials management is required.
* Skills:
o Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
o Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
o Proficiency in procurement software and Excel
o Strong leadership and team management skills.
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
