Primary Purpose: The primary purpose of the Energy Management Analyst is to review, analyze, and standardize building energy performance and operation. This role will primarily focus on analyzing energy data and generating insight that can help ADUSA assess energy performance, measure energy savings, and evaluate energy consumption organizationally and by location. The Energy Management Analyst will strive to drive innovation and improvements in energy efficiency and facility operation.
Our flexible/hybrid work schedule includes 3 in-person days at one of our core locations and 2 remote days. Our core office location is Salisbury, NC.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Research new technologies and innovations related to energy performance and facility operation to identify those which may be beneficial in aiding ADUSA reach its carbon reduction goals.
2. Review energy consumption via utility billing, sub-metering, and facility energy management system (EMS) to provide exception and trend reporting to all ADUSA Brands.
3. Support management of building and energy monitoring program by tracking and reporting identified energy conservation measures and savings, while coordinating with Maintenance for corrective action when necessary.
4. Identify energy-saving opportunities and recommend strategies for reducing consumption, such as upgrades to energy-efficient equipment or optimization of HVAC and refrigeration systems.
5. Manage energy performance analysis, including data collection from various energy management systems (Emerson, Danfoss, Engie, ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager, Service Channel, sub-metering, etc.) for end-use accounting, energy analysis, and facility performance.
6. Maintain energy metering systems (includes solar system monitoring) to gather data on electricity, gas, water, and other energy-related consumption.
7. Perform energy benchmarking across all facilities within ADUSA to identify trends and outliers/exceptions in overall efficiency.
8. Responsible for validating energy conservation measures for new and existing ADUSA stores.
9. Perform engineering calculations relating to new equipment energy consumption and performance via technical data sheet or equipment nameplate data.
10. Additional job duties may be assigned as needed to meet the needs of the business and support our values.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Energy, or relevant experience in facility energy management
2. 3+ years of experience in energy analysis or understanding of supermarket control systems (Refrigeration, HVAC, Lighting, etc.)
3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
4. Strong analytical, organizational, and reporting skills
5. Advanced computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel or PowerBI
6. Detail oriented with the ability to manage priorities and workflow on multiple projects simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Familiarity with supermarket energy management systems such as Emerson and Danfoss
2. Experience with supermarket operation and control systems
3. Understanding of general engineering principles
4. Knowledge of energy efficiency principles and industry best practices
5. Ability to prepare reports, manage data, and analyze results
6. Certified Energy Manager
