Job Description
We are seeking a Group Finance Manager to lead our Head Office in Loughton, Essex. This role will oversee the Accounts Department and manage four private schools.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage financial accounting activities and ensure accurate ledgers for money transactions.
* Prepare management accounts, monthly reports, accruals, deferrals, and prepayments.
* Provide detailed analyses of results and oversee Capex expenditure.
* Reconcile intercompany financial movements, prepayments, and accruals.
Cash flow Forecasting:
* Manage rolling cash flow forecasts and prepare monthly cash flow reports, KPIs, and budgets.
* Analyse operational and financial performance to support decision-making.
General Accountancy:
* Liaise with stakeholders, including accountants, bankers, and HMRC.
* Assist with administration of monthly salaries, Group Pension Scheme, school trips/workshops costs, and school budgets.
* Monitor Barclaycard and Amex transactions for changes in charges.
School Fees Administration (Sales Ledger):
* Support Accounts Administrators with fee invoices, schedules, deposits, and records on the Engage database.
* Check fees, adjustments, and charges for each pupil at four schools.
* Liaise with School Offices about chargeable activities and provide information for fee invoices.
* Distribute invoices electronically to agreed timescales and handle parental queries.
Credit Control Administration:
* Process payments by Credit/Debit Card and send reminders via email or text.
* Chase unauthorised late fees and track payments received.
* Update aged debtor reports and create a diary system for regular payments.
VAT Returns:
* Produce accurate VAT records and submit monthly VAT Returns within HMRC expected timeframes.
* Keep records of VAT due and exemptions, and reconcile VAT reclaimable from HMRC.

Requirements:
* ACA/ACCA qualification or equivalent
* Extensive knowledge of local laws, taxes, licenses, finance, and accounting practices
* Experience in a finance environment working with management accounts
* Advanced Sage Accounts and MS Excel skills
* Ability to analyse data, prepare reports, and communicate effectively
