Our specialist Families and Friends Support Team supports placements for children and young people who are cared for by a relative or friend, where their own parents are not able to. We are a dedicated passionate social work service, led by experienced managers that support, advise and supervise all approved family and friend carers. This strengthens our Trust commitment to the importance for children to remain with their families throughout their childhood and we help them achieve the most positive outcomes. As a Senior Supervising social worker, you will be passionate about making a positive difference and achieve change for the children and families we work with. You will be responsible for managing a complex caseload of approved Family and Friends Foster carers. You will be provided with a supportive team environment where you will have access to the right tools, equipment and resources, so you can focus on your work. You will receive regular supervision and a comprehensive training programme which will support your career development. You will be a qualified, SWE registered social worker, you’ll bring your experience of working with vulnerable children and their families. Are you passionate and committed to working flexibly with others? Can you collaborate effectively with other teams, statutory and voluntary agencies? Do you have a demonstrable understanding of key legislation, which equips you to analyse and intervene effectively? Crucially, do you have the ability to communicate clearly to all kinds of audiences, both in person and in writing and be competent in handling large numbers of calls each day?
