Mars is embarking on a significant, enterprise-wide digital transformation journey that will underpin future business operations and unlock strategic priorities. The Enterprise teams will act as “Strategic Architects” in partnership with segments, defining, building, and deploying capabilities that support cross-segment processes and standards.
The newly formed Enterprise Applications & Analytics (EAA) team within Enterprise Technologies plays a vital role in designing, building, and delivering technology (S/4 and Edge Systems) supporting this transformation. Within EAA, the Finance team is supported by three pillars: core SAP S/4, Enterprise Analytics, and Finance Systems, which partner with functions like Controllership, Internal Audit, Tax, Treasury, and MGSF to deliver Edge system technology solutions.
This role of Record to Report (RTR) Finance Systems Director has been created to lead the RTR technology transformation supporting the Controllership, Internal Audit, and MGSF RTR Tower and Global Process owner teams.
What are we looking for?
* A deep understanding of the RTR technology landscape (e.g., S/4 HANA, Blackline, One Stream or similar, RPA, Celonis, audit management/analytics, control management software), system capabilities, and how different systems drive RTR business insights, process efficiency, and financial control.
* Extensive experience in system integration lifecycle including design, deployment, data migration, and data model design.
* A proven track record of leading large, complex digital programs, likely gained as a Senior Manager or Director of finance technology at a top-tier consultancy (e.g., Big 4, Accenture, IBM, Cap Gemini) or as a finance transformation technology leader in a Fortune 500 or FTSE 100 company.
* Ability to remain flexible and resilient under pressure, comfortable handling ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong influencing skills with key decision-makers and business leaders, complemented by excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
* Relevant competencies include dealing with ambiguity, leadership, directing others, and program management (including Agile methodologies).
What will be your key responsibilities?
* Shape the RTR technology agenda within Mars by collaborating with senior stakeholders including Controllership, Internal Audit, RTR MGSF GPOs, Tower leaders, FinTech, and Digital Core teams.
* Share best practices and trends in RTR technology and applications to enhance business insights, effectiveness, and efficiency.
* Lead the design and implementation of RTR Edge system Digital Core.
* Oversee the delivery of a portfolio of RTR technology-enabled transformation projects involving cross-functional teams.
* Coordinate with partner groups, PMOs, and governance bodies to ensure smooth decision-making, design, and communication processes.
* Manage budgets and financial processes for the RTR project portfolio, including BAU and transformation initiatives.
* Represent the Senior Director of Finance Systems in senior leadership meetings as required.
