The East Midlands Region is currently recruiting a temporary Team Support Worker, to be based at our busy regional office in Nottingham. The post holder will work in two departments: 16 hours in Learning & Member Development and 17.5 hours in the Central Administration Team.
The role will include the provision of administrative support to staff, lay member committees, and more generally for the team. Candidates must have a good knowledge of committee administration, general office practice and procedures, finance, and data systems and procedures. Duties include:
1. Inputting and extracting data from membership and other data systems
2. Processing financial data and invoices
3. Agenda preparation and committee administration
4. Drafting and producing communications
You must also have good telephone and communication skills and be able to deal with internal and external queries, including member complaints, and a range of other issues in a sensitive and positive manner. You will also need to be able to work in a team environment.
Excellent administrative, secretarial, communication, and ICT skills are essential, along with the confidence to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.
An understanding of trade unions and their objectives, as well as the importance of lay activist education, would be an advantage.
