Purpose of the role
The CIO will oversee the entire IT strategy, operations, and services for the organization. This role will be instrumental in driving forward the transformation of our back-office systems, including ERP platforms, such as Salesforce, HRIS, and Payroll systems. The CIO will work closely with senior leadership, technology teams, and external partners to ensure alignment with the business’s strategic goals, ensuring the efficient use of technology to drive growth, improve operational performance, and enable seamless service delivery.
The post holder will collaborate with the other SLT members (CEO, CPO, CFO, CCO and COO) to deliver all areas of the strategy plan (people, technology, growth).
Strategic Leadership:
* Define and execute the company’s overall IT strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
* Lead, mentor, and manage a large and diverse team of IT professionals, including permanent staff and contractors.
* Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and collaboration across the IT department.
Digital Transformation:
* Oversee the design and implementation of a comprehensive back-office systems transformation, with a focus on ERP platforms (Salesforce, HRIS, Payroll, and other enterprise systems).
* Ensure the successful migration, integration, and optimization of systems to improve business processes, data management, and reporting capabilities.
* Partner with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure that technological solutions are effectively meeting business requirements.
Project Management and Delivery:
* Lead and manage large-scale IT projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
* Develop and implement effective project management processes and methodologies, collaborating with the PMO to ensure successful project execution.
Operational Efficiency & Risk Management:
* Oversee the day-to-day IT operations, ensuring that systems are secure, reliable, and scalable to meet the needs of the business.
* Establish and enforce IT policies, standards, and governance frameworks to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
* Lead cybersecurity efforts, ensuring the protection of sensitive information and systems.
Stakeholder Engagement:
* Build strong relationships with business leaders, understanding their goals and challenges to translate them into actionable IT strategies.
* Serve as the key liaison between technology teams and business units, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
Financial Oversight:
* Manage the IT department’s budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions and value for money in all technology investments.
* Oversee vendor management and contract negotiations to ensure optimal terms and service delivery.
What we’re looking for
* Proven experience as a CIO, CTO, or senior technology leader within a global or multi-site organization, ideally within the healthcare staffing or recruitment sector.
* Expertise in managing ERP system transformations, including platforms such as Salesforce, HRIS, and Payroll systems.
* Strong background in IT service management, project management, and business process optimization.
* Experience in leading large teams, including both permanent staff and contractors, with a track record of developing and nurturing talent.
* Demonstrable success in leading digital and technology-driven transformations, ideally with experience in back-office system overhauls.
* Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels, including senior executives and external partners.
* In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, data privacy, and regulatory compliance (including GDPR).
* Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to manage budgets and drive cost-effective technology investments.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment, balancing long-term strategic goals with day-to-day operational requirements.
Desirable Qualifications:
* Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
* Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP, or similar).
* Experience with cloud technologies and data analytics platforms.
* Experience in the recruitment or healthcare staffing sectors is highly advantageous.
