Our Partner Organisation - Agnes Gateway Hotel
Join the team at Agnes Gateway Hotel, a historic and vibrant hub for tourism in Munda, Western Province, Solomon Islands. Originally established in the 1960s as the Munda Government Rest House, the hotel grew under the care of Agnes Kera and her family to become the largest tourism offering in the region.
Conveniently located near the airport and local business district, the hotel sits on the scenic shores of Roviana Lagoon. It provides accommodation, meals, and a gateway to unforgettable experiences. Visitors can enjoy stunning sunsets, fresh seafood, scuba diving and snorkelling at world-class sites with WWII relics, fishing excursions, rainforest treks, and trips to tropical islands.
This is a wonderful opportunity to support an iconic local business and help create memorable experiences for travellers in the Solomon Islands!
The Assignment
This assignment is a partnership assignment between VSA and Agnes Gateway Hotel, a long-standing cornerstone of tourism in Munda, Solomon Islands. The Country
The Solomon Islands has over 900 islands, 5,000 rural villages and 550,000 people. Between 1999 and 2003 it experienced a period of conflict which took a heavy toll on the country and left a need for reconciliation and ongoing peace and security measures.
A request for assistance by the government in 2003 led Australia, New Zealand and other Pacific Island countries to form the Regional Assistance Mission to the Solomon Islands (RAMSI) which restored peace and security.
VSA has established a strong presence in Solomon Islands through its ongoing partnerships with multiple in-country partners, including strong relationships with the Solomon Islands Government.
