A well-established consulting civil and structural engineering firm is seeking a dedicated Structural Engineer to join their Historic Building and Structures department. The Structural Engineer will be offered a salary up to £48,000 as well as mentorship towards an ICE / IStructE approved training scheme.

Key Responsibilities
* Survey and Assessment: Conduct thorough surveys and assessments of historic buildings and structures, ensuring their integrity and longevity.
* Engineering Design: Engage in the engineering design of refurbishment projects, applying innovative solutions to preserve historical significance while meeting modern standards.
* Client Interaction: Liaise effectively with clients' office and site staff to address technical queries and provide clear guidance throughout project phases.
* Site Engagement: Attend meetings and perform site inspections to monitor progress, ensuring compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
* Technical Proficiency: Prepare detailed hand calculations and utilize industry-standard software to support design decisions.
Minimum Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
* Professional Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience in building structures, with a focus on historic buildings and refurbishment projects.
* Design Expertise: Proficient in designing with materials such as masonry, timber, steel, and concrete, with a strong understanding of building construction methods.
* Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal English proficiency, capable of producing comprehensive reports and effectively conveying complex technical information.
* Professional Development: Actively pursuing or intent on achieving chartered status with the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE).
