Main Duties & Responsibilities
The role reports to the Business Unit Director and is a stand-alone position.
General & HR Administration
Provide HR and general administrative support for the business, as well as basic HR advice to line managers to be delivered on-site as follows, as well as (not exhaustive):
* Responsible for the employee lifecycle from recruitment and on-boarding of employees through to exiting of employees.
* Supporting line managers on basic employee relations processes, such as disciplinary, grievance, capability and termination, providing guidance and ensuring processes are completed to mitigate risk to the business.
* Supporting line managers with their staff’s development and contributing to overall company succession planning.
* Undertake sundry HR administration tasks, including arranging training events for employees and supporting line managers with the Company survey and action plans.
* Create the monthly Payroll summary for the Payroll Team to process.
* Undertake ad hoc HR projects, such as compiling documentation for pay reviews, as well as administering the annual discretionary Company Bonus Scheme and updating the Staff Handbook when appropriate.
* Assist the Head of Technical, Compliance & Quality on ad hoc H&S administrative tasks.
* Assisting the arrangements for sundry company events as required.
Acting as an advocate and promoter for mental health and wellbeing throughout the business:
* Provide an onsite presence for staff, acting as a Mental Health First Aider, to signpost where staff can access relevant support on identifying the signs of mental health/welfare issues. Training will be provided.
* Promote, develop and support our welfare measures throughout the company, assisting in the effective communications persistently and consistently of employee wellbeing onsite and electronically.
* Promote our wellness Wednesday activities liaising with group level HR.
Key Experiences/Skills
* Positive approach with the ability to maintain confidentiality and trust.
* Experienced in undertaking HR administrative and basic employee relations duties, requiring a high attention to detail and thoroughness to complete tasks and projects to completion on time and proactively with limited supervision.
* Excellent communication skills to create great working relationships with line managers and colleagues.
* Able to work on own initiative, organising and prioritising own workload to changing and to tight deadlines.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, underpinned by high level of empathy and emotional intelligence.
* Practical knowledge of MS Powerpoint, Excel, Word and Outlook to intermediate level.
* Punctual and reliable – good time-keeping essential.
