Job Title: Logistics Operator
Location: Burton Factory
Shift – 12 hours (2 days, 2 nights)
JOB PURPOSE
The Logistics Operator will be involved in inbound, materials movement, and dispatch related tasks. The role requires a working knowledge of SAP as well as current licenses for forklift trucks and related handling equipment. The individual must be able to conduct manual handling of loads safely and is required to support cleaning tasks across the area. They will also support stock counting and continuous improvement of the logistics operation. The role requires excellent communication and knowledge sharing between production and the Planning Department.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Safety:
1. Workplace Hazards - Full knowledge of the workplace and hazards within it. Utilise all appropriate safety and environmental procedures for people, processes, materials, products, and equipment relevant to the task.
2. Report all safety incidents and support investigations as appropriate.
3. Utilise equipment in a safe way at all times and in line with site rules.
4. Wear PPE to the correct standard at all times.
Operational Quality:
1. Monitor quality against set standards and report faults. Detect process abnormalities quickly and take emergency action to prevent them.
2. Check and record analytical data relevant to raw and pack materials.
Operational Delivery:
1. Utilise the SAP system to proactively replenish production with pack materials.
2. Operate unloading and loading systems to ensure efficient material flow inbound and outbound.
3. Conduct stock checks, both in production and in the warehouse as part of a stock control schedule and ad hoc.
4. Operate the outbound pallet conveying system, Siemens auto pallet labelling system, and auto truck load systems.
5. Carry out product and process changeovers/wash-outs to maintain quality standards whilst minimising the impact on the production plan.
6. Ensure 5S standards are clearly defined and followed.
Environment:
1. Ensure that production areas have clean, empty bins for waste.
2. Record waste data as part of waste management processes.
3. Use correct recycling routes to dispose of waste.
4. Wash empty containers prior to returning them for use.
ALL ABOUT YOU
1. Minimum GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths at grade C or above.
2. Experience working in a factory or warehouse environment.
3. Experience using SAP.
4. IT skills and experience using Microsoft Office.
5. Must have an RTTB licence.
