This is an exciting opportunity to pursue practical work experience using world class technologies and processes, alongside academic learning. Your role can include early concept design and development engineering and preparation for vehicle launches. Including assembly, testing, validating and analysing performance of new vehicles and components.
Wage
£15,069 a year
This will also attract a holiday premium. The salary increases on successful completion of each apprenticeship year, throughout the apprenticeship.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
Learn basic engineering skills such as:
* Machining
* Fabricating sheet metal
* Basic principles of electronic circuits and wiring
* Work alongside skilled teams in a prototype testing environment, to enhance your on-the-job learning
* You will regularly rotate within the engineering departments at our research and development centre

Basic Engineering skills for use in product design and development.
You will also study for a technical engineering qualification as a Product Design & Development Technician (Prototype Mechanic) Apprentice:
* Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence)
* Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competence) – Product Design and Development
* Level 3 Diploma or Extended Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge)
* Together with successful completion with an End Point Assessment (EPA),
* Block release at college to compliment engineering theory
* The first 18 months of the apprenticeship will be held at CEME training centre in Rainham, Essex

Essential qualifications
GCSE or equivalent in:
