DWP Human Resources (HR) Advice and Support provides a proactive and professional prevention service, along with reactive advisory services, to improve the employee experience and reduce risk to DWP. We enable DWP managers to make consistent, fair, reasonable, inclusive, and lawful decisions. We work closely with managers, DWP Functions, Government Legal Department and other Government Departments to manage employment litigation and improve people outcomes.
We are looking for talented and highly capable individual to join our team in a senior leadership role, as a HR Casework Operational Leader. You will report to the Grade 7 HR Casework Operational Lead. Occasional travel will be required.
* Lead a team of HEO HR Casework Consultants to ensure timely and efficient delivery of operational casework, in accordance with internal policy and employment law. Coach and support your team to perform, work flexibly and adapt quickly to changing priorities by allocating resources to the shifting needs of the team, reacting to unexpected peaks and trough periods in real time.
* Remain alert to emerging issues and trends, escalating where appropriate and/or taking preventative action in collaboration with key stakeholders and the wider team to reduce risk and improve outcomes for DWP and its people. Provide timely contributions to requests for information within DWP, including ministerial replies, FOI, and GDPR requests.
* Lead by example, providing inspiration, direction, and support to colleagues by clearly communicating corporate changes and strategic drivers for our work. Be an active member of our leadership team by taking a personal lead on key initiatives. Encourage teamwork within your own team and across other teams to support DWP people priorities.
* Communicate effectively and influence a diverse range of stakeholders to share HR expertise. Create a culture that promotes, supports, and delivers improvements to performance and customer service through strong, inclusive, and effective leadership.
