Job summary An opportunity has arisen within Chelmer Medical Partnership for a part or full-time, experienced medical secretary. Working within a busy clerical team, the successful post-holder will be undertaking a wide range of secretarial and administrative duties. The successful applicant will be flexible to be able to work extra hours to support colleagues sickness and holiday absence. Main duties of the job Providing essential secretarial duties within our busy GP practice. Dealing with telephone and email enquiries. Managing referrals to secondary care. Audio typing of GP correspondence using a digital dictation system. Liaising with patients about their care and assisting GPs with negotiating care pathways. Sound knowledge of medical terminology. Excellent general IT skills including MS Office and experience of working with a clinical system. Understand the need to maintain confidentiality and data security, at all times. Ability to multi-task and to work accurately under pressure.
