Job Title: Level 3 Vehicle Technician
Location: St. Ives
We have a requirement for a Level 3 Vehicle Technician to work out of St. Ives for a permanent position.
Salary: £28,000 per year plus Bonus (up to £2k per month).
Working Hours: Monday to Friday & alternate Saturdays
8:30 AM - 5:30 PM plus overtime available.

Key Responsibilities:
* Work as part of the workshop team to carry out scheduled vehicle service and repair work, in accordance with the relevant manufacturers' standards.
* Carry out all workshop work in an efficient and safe manner, to meet customer requirements and maximise workshop utilisation and productivity.
* Examine vehicles and diagnose non-routine defects, either in the workshop or during a road test, using knowledge of the vehicles and technologies concerned.
* Examine vehicles and report defects against relevant regulatory bodies.
* Carry out each job within the budgeted time as set out on the job card to maintain own labour productivity.
* Work in accordance with workshop and Centre Health & Safety requirements.
* Maintain workshop standards of cleanliness and tidiness.
* Take personal responsibility for the daily maintenance of workshop equipment, and report equipment defects or problems that need attention.
* Follow key processes to achieve specified quality and efficiency targets.
* Collaborate with the Centre to develop and improve more efficient processes.
* Communicate with customers to summarise the details of the work required or carried out, and answer their questions.
* Provide customers with detailed technical explanations (where this is required) in a way that recognises their level of technical proficiency.
* Listen carefully to customers and build rapport and understanding during these discussions to deliver customer satisfaction with the Centre.
* Coach and support apprentice technicians by explaining repairs on a step-by-step basis or allowing an apprentice to carry out part of a job.
* Provide assistance and guidance to colleagues who are less skilled or knowledgeable about a particular vehicle or technology.
* Attend specialised training as required by the relevant manufacturer.
* Work with colleagues and other teams across the Centre to provide a seamless service to customers.
* Ensure opportunities for sales are followed up by the most appropriate specialist.
* Report on technical problems using appropriate procedures.
* Handle customer data in line with GDPR.
* Perform ad hoc duties as required to meet the needs of the business.
* Must hold level 3 vehicle technician competence.
