One of our partnership SEMH schools in Ferryhill, are looking for a Fully Qualified Teacher or a HLTA! This role is to begin ASAP!
In this role, you will be engaging in 1:1 sessions with children (Primary) with SEMH needs, focusing on core curriculum subjects. As a SEMH Teacher you will be required to work in classes between 5-8 students, accompanied by a Support Assistant. You will be working with children and young people who are not able attend mainstream education for multiple reasons, such as:
* Children in Looked After Care
* Anxiety
* Exclusion
* Speech and language difficulties
* Physical and mental health issues, disabilities and learning difficulties
In this role you will:
* Assess and monitor children’s learning and development
* Follow behavior support plans to avoid triggers
* Implement routines and expectations in and around the classroom
* Liaise and deploy support staff in an effective manner
The ideal candidate will have:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or experience tutoring children with SEMH OR have a HLTA qualifcation
* Experience supporting children with SEN/SEMH or a keen interest to pursue this
* A kind, caring and patient manner when working with children
* The ability to communicate effectively with other members of staff
* The ability to differentiate lessons to suit the needs of all children
* Full time availability

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
