HR Advisor (Fixed Term Contract)
Salary: Up to £28,350 per annum
Contract: Fixed term until May 2025
Location: Hybrid – Office and remote working, with travel to customer sites across Devon and Cornwall
We are looking for a dynamic HR Advisor to join our People and Culture team on a fixed-term basis until the end of May 2025. If you are passionate about positive people practices and have a background in HR advisory services, this is the role for you. You will work closely with our Head of HR, HR Business Partner, and support team to deliver high-quality HR services for our customer, Transforming Futures Trust, across Devon and Cornwall.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide expert HR advice, ensuring managers effectively handle employment matters in line with company policies and legal requirements.
2. Support managers in performance reviews, probation, and absence management, including promoting mental health and well-being initiatives.
3. Guide managers in understanding and applying HR policies to maximize employee performance and engagement.
4. Coach and develop line managers through one-on-one or group sessions, helping them build the skills needed to manage their teams.
5. Maintain and update HR documentation, including the employee handbook, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance.
6. Collaborate with unions and staff representative groups to foster a positive and productive workforce.
7. Contribute to business development opportunities by offering HR services to current and future customers.
8. Lead or support cross-functional HR projects as required.
What We’re Looking For
1. Proven experience providing HR support to managers and employees, with a good understanding of both administrative and complex procedural matters.
2. CIPD Level 5 qualification preferred.
3. Experience in the education sector would be a plus.
4. Strong communication and coaching skills, with the ability to inspire confidence in customers.
5. Capable of working independently or as part of a team, with strong organizational skills.
6. Willingness to travel and flexibility to work outside of core hours when necessary.
