We are The Lyme Bay Ltd., a young, small restaurant group based in Dorset & Devon.
With two restaurants and a cocktail bar already in our portfolio, we have just signed a long-term lease on our third installment in the popular market town of Bridport.
This will be our first site that is not coastal, and as we move slightly more inland, we cannot think of a better place to do it than Bridport, listed as one of the most desirable towns to live in the UK.
The site itself has been there for many years, and we are proud to take it on. Its popularity over the years has meant we have decided to keep its name (The Beach & Barnicott), and this venture will be The Lyme Bay @ The Beach & Barnicott.
Our other sites are The Lime Kiln Café in Ilfracombe and our flagship site The Lyme Bay Café & Bar in the historic town of Lyme Regis.
Our cocktail bar Downstairs is located conveniently downstairs in The Lyme Bay.
Using local suppliers as much as possible, we pride ourselves on delivering a very fresh and affordable product in a timely fashion with a smile.
Serving a variety of items from fresh fish dishes, the best burgers, amazing breakfasts, refreshing cocktails, amazing coffee, and fantastic wines, we cannot wait to open the doors to the café, but this site comes with a twist: a late license, so we will be dipping our toes into late-night refreshment and entertainment.
With a new site and new equipment, we will need to install a brand new team, and for this project to be the success I am sure it will be, we are on the hunt for the best leaders to begin this journey with us.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are on the hunt for a dynamic, organised, and highly creative individual to head up operations and help install a team that will deliver a small but exciting breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu, as well as help give Bridport a very much-needed place for some late-night revelry.
The successful candidate will be onsite helping with the setup one month prior to opening, allowing you input on how the site will function.
Reporting to the Owners, you will oversee the day-to-day operations and install a fresh, no-nonsense professional working environment. Your main responsibilities are:
1. Employ, train, and ensure there is a competent team in play at any given time.
2. Develop your team to be the best they can be, rewarding good performance.
3. Be consistent with all H&S, HR, and food safety paperwork.
4. Create a joyful and fruitful working environment, making sure the connection between FOH and BOH is strong to install a one-team mentality.
5. Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and leading by example.
6. Be creative with specials to help minimise wastage.
7. Ensure that all equipment is maintained, cleaned, and hygienic.
8. Ensure that product is consistent and to a good standard.
9. Complete forecasts, plans, and costings.
