Annual Leave: 45 per annum plus statutory Bank Holidays

Teaching hours: 864 annualised hours

An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering to join our Engineering team. This is a fantastic opportunity to help shape the next generation of Mechanical Engineering professionals while playing a key role in a thriving academic community.
What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering, you will:
Deliver and oversee high-quality, inclusive teaching, learning, and assessment within the Engineering sector.
Plan programmes of study that cater to the unique needs, interests, and abilities of all students.
Foster students' academic and personal development, enabling them to reach their full potential.
Design and implement lesson plans that bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world applications.
Collaborate with colleagues to enrich the learning experience and meet the diverse needs of students.
Contribute to student recruitment, retention, achievement, and progression through personalised guidance and support.
What We’re Looking For:
We seek candidates who:
Are qualified Teacher or are willing to work towards achieving this qualification.
Hold a minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
Have GCSEs at Grade C / Level 4 or above in English and Maths, or equivalent qualifications.
Possess current knowledge and/or experience in teaching Mechanical Engineering.
Demonstrate effective classroom management, excellent time management, and strong communication skills.
Are proficient in creating teaching materials using Information Learning Technology.

*The Lecturer Salary Scale is from Pt 5 – Pt 16. The salary progression criteria beyond point 11 of the Lecturer scale will be based on you achieving and maintaining, on an annual basis, the Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) & QTS. To progress beyond point 14 of the Lecturer salary scale, you will be expected to achieve and maintain the Advanced Teacher Status (ATS).
