We are seeking to employ an enthusiastic new part-time member of staff to join our friendly laboratory team at the Sussex Equine Hospital providing diagnostic services to our veterinary team and external clients.
Reporting to the laboratory manager, duties include:
Labelling and processing samples for the required tests (haematology, biochemistry, microbiology, and cytology) as requested by veterinarians, in accordance with standard operating procedures. Accurately and promptly recording and reporting results to support optimal treatment decisions, performing quality control and ensuring the proper maintenance of analysers and equipment.
Essential qualities
* Educated to A-level or equivalent or have relevant laboratory experience.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Ability to learn and problem solve.
* To work alone and as part of a team.
* To work under pressure and be able to prioritise and be flexible.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Good IT skills.
* Due to rural setting, having your own car is essential.
Your shift pattern
This is a part-time role working 19.5 hours over 3 days, including Saturdays/ bank holiday work as part of a rota.
