Job Summary
Chamberlain Highbury Trust are seeking a new Freelance Trust Coordinator.
Job Description
Chamberlain Highbury Trust represents one of Birmingham's hidden heritage assets; Grade II* listed Highbury Hall and its surrounding estate was once home to radical MP, Joseph Chamberlain, described by Sir Winston Churchill as "the one who made the political weather". Our trust was formed to give Highbury a future that will benefit the citizens of Birmingham, as intended by the Chamberlain family when gifted to Birmingham City Council almost a century ago.
Our Trust Board is looking to engage a freelance independent contractor who will provide services to the Trust across governance, fundraising support and communications. We expect the service provider to work for us approximately 2 days a week.
We are interested in having help from someone who has experience of:
1. Governance of, for example, a charitable or not-for-profit organisation
2. Arranging meetings, helping with agendas and papers, and taking minutes
3. Supporting Trustees, other contractors and volunteers
4. Communications and fundraising in some capacity
5. Managing or contributing to website, newsletters and social media content.
This role is varied and will suit a wide range of potential candidates. We strongly encourage those who do not have experience across all of these areas to apply; we welcome applicants to highlight their transferrable skills and/or knowledge from related contexts. Enthusiasm and willingness to do and learn will be key traits of the successful candidate.
The role will be largely home-based, though regular attendance at Highbury will be expected, including on evenings and weekends. The ideal candidate will reside in or near Birmingham, and have good knowledge of our beautiful city and its local communities.
We particularly encourage young people and those of diverse backgrounds to apply. We want our team to represent our vibrant city.
The successful candidate will be paid a rate of £130 per day based on an 8h working day, approx £1040 per month.
