Job Description
Service care solutions are working with the Scottish Government Legal Directorate, who are looking for a Solicitor to join the Rural Affairs Division. Join a dedicated team at the heart of public law, focusing on vital private law issues, particularly leases.
This role offers a chance to deepen your expertise across a broad spectrum of public law, collaborating closely with policy colleagues.
This role has a starting day rate from: LTD: £294.21 (this is negotiable). The role is until Nov 2025 - 11 Month contract with possibility to extend by 4 weeks. Your working week will consist of 5 working days, 35hrs a week.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Work on Part 2 of the Land Reform Bill, focusing on small landholdings legislation.
2. Instruct on new pre-emptive rights to buy small landholdings.
3. Advise on community rights to buy, including evaluating applications and making recommendations to Ministers.
4. Contribute to the review of community right to buy legislation, informing future reforms expected to conclude in 2025.
5. Engage in high-profile Parliamentary work, balancing public interests with the rights of landlords and tenants.
Who We're Looking For:
1. A motivated Solicitor who is eager to tackle complex legal challenges in a supportive environment.
2. Someone with experience in Bills, legislation, property or litigation, working on these skills with a supportive team and team leader.
