We are recruiting for Pensions Actuarial & Risk Manager to join our continually growing Pension Services area. Our brand-new offices are based at the i9 building in Wolverhampton and is an excellent location for transport links by car, bus, train and tram.
What the day will look like
responsibilities include:
* To take a lead in employer engagement on funding and risk matters using advance logic and complex judgements to support the delivery of employer casework.
* To lead a focused funding and risk management team, within a wider Employer Services team. In conjunction with the Employer Relationship Manager and with oversight from the Assistant Director, Pensions, setting function deadlines, workload and managing employer-led casework, including employer onboarding, restructuring and exit, ensuring employer notification and records (including legal documents governing admissions and security) are up to date and maintained in line with Fund policy and procedures.
* Responsible for day-to-day management of the funding and risk management team, including function delivery and performance management.
* Actively lead and model the values & behaviours both within the service area and wider Fund. Incorporate the organisations values & behaviours into service area objectives.
* To work with actuarial, investment and covenant advisers and across Fund service areas to ensure the delivery of integrated risk management, including through consideration of funding-level and time-horizon, by employer type, cashflow profile and risk categorisation.
About you
The ideal candidate will be a highly analytical and strategic thinker with substantial experience in pension funding, risk management, and policy development. They will have strong leadership skills, the ability to engage and negotiate with a wide range of stakeholders, and expertise in interpreting complex financial data to inform decision-making within a multi-employer pension scheme.
