Proposal Engineer - Renewable Energy

Salary: £50,000 - £70,000 DOE + benefits
About the role:
Astute's Renewables team is working exclusively with a leading renewable energy provider who have a commitment to professional development and sustainability. They are looking to recruit a Proposal Engineer, who will be responsible for preparing, managing and coordinating proposals for engineering projects.
The strategically important Proposal Engineer role comes with a salary of up to £70,000 depending on experience, 25 days holiday + BH, private healthcare and pension.

Responsibilities and duties:
Reporting to the Chief Engineer you will:
1. Build and manage relationships with clients, supporting business to be engaged to bid and win profitable business.
2. Engage with clients to understand their needs, address inquiries, and clarify technical aspects of proposals.
3. Present proposals and participate in discussions to articulate technical solutions effectively.
4. Analyse project requirements, specifications, and scope of work.
5. Provide applicable client specifications and SOW to the technical department and collate any technical clarifications for discussion with the client.
6. Manage the proposal process, including timelines, deadlines, and submission requirements.
7. Ensure proposals comply with company policies, standards, and industry regulations.
8. Liaise with sales, engineering, and technical teams to gather necessary information for proposals.
9. Seek internal and external costs for commercial input.
10. Conduct cost estimation and pricing analysis for materials, labour, and project execution.
11. Prepare the proposal, including both technical and commercial aspects, for internal review in accordance with Client requirements.
12. Attend both internal and client meetings as required.
13. Other duties as required.
Professional qualifications:
We are looking for someone with the following:
1. Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field.
Personal skills:
The Proposal Engineer role would suit someone who is:
1. Experienced in proposal development, preferably within the engineering or construction industry.
2. Proficient in technical writing, interpreting engineering drawings, and creating technical documentation.
3. Strong analytical skills for cost estimation and pricing analysis.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client interactions and team collaboration.
5. Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple proposals simultaneously.
6. Ability to understand, interrogate, negotiate and interpret client RFQ.
7. Strong knowledge of equipment, construction costing and budgeting, specifically within the Engineering sector.
8. Ability to self-manage, with support from senior managers.
Salary and benefits of the Proposal Engineer role:
£50,000 - £70,000 depending on experience

25 days holiday, plus Bank Holiday
