1:1 Teaching Assistant Teaching Personnel are currently seeking a passionate, patient and dedicated Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a year 3 child in a Burnley Primary School. The child has Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties and often displays challenging behaviour. In order to develop socially and academically, the child requires nurturing support to allow them to be fully integrated back into the classroom on a full-time basis. The role will involve 1:1 support within the class and out of the class as appropriate. A candidate who is Team Teach trained would be desirable, however this is not essential. Experience supporting a child in similar circumstances is required. The school is of average size, in the centre of Burnley and easily accessible via car and public transport. The Head Teacher has very high expectations of behaviour management in school, as they do have a number of pupils with SEMH needs, the successful practitioner should therefore be confident in implementing the school behaviour policy and behaviour management techniques. The school boasts a strong Senior Leadership Team and the core members of staff are friendly and all too happy to help any new addition settle in.
