The University of Nottingham wishes to appoint a Clinical Associate Professor in Paediatric Endocrinology with clinical duties as Honorary Consultant at our partner NHS Trust, the University Hospitals of Derby and Burton Foundation NHS Trust (UHDB).
This new clinical academic post has been created to enhance our research and provide exceptional clinical care in Paediatric Endocrinology.
The post provides an excellent opportunity to combine research and teaching. You will develop and maintain an internationally excellent research programme which aligns with the research strategies of the School of Medicine and will have a demonstrable impact on the care and wellbeing of patients. You will deliver high-quality teaching to, and examine, undergraduate and postgraduate students and contribute to the development of undergraduate and postgraduate education.
You will provide clinical service in Paediatric Endocrinology in UHDB working within an Honorary Consultant Contract to provide specialist outpatient care in Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes and, with consultant colleagues, a comprehensive outpatient Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes service. The University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust (UHDB) has one of the largest caseloads of Paediatric Diabetes and Endocrinology within one single Trust in the UK, and this post will further develop the clinical service.
You will work 50:50 in the post, split between University and NHS duties. The post is permanent and is offered to those who wish to work full-time (i.e. 10 PAs/week).
Throughout the duration of the post, you will maintain your GMC Registration with a licence to practice, your GMC Registration on the Specialist Register, and undertake clinical practice in Paediatric Endocrinology with University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust (UHDB).
Interviews will be held on the 20th March from 1:30pm.
