The Fabric Engineer is responsible for delivering high-quality building services maintenance across a range of client properties within a designated region, focusing on plumbing, carpentry, and general fabric-related tasks.
This role emphasises delivering a world-class maintenance service, providing both planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) and reactive maintenance to meet and exceed client expectations.
Job Description
As a Multi Skilled Fabric Engineer, you will work across diverse locations and contracts, including government offices, banking facilities, educational institutions, and healthcare sites.

Key Responsibilities
* Handle fabric-related PPM, proactive, and reactive tasks from helpdesk within timeframes to exceed client expectations
* Perform additional maintenance duties, including exterior works, plumbing, mechanical, and carpentry tasks
* Maintain external grounds as required
* Provide callout response as scheduled on rota
* Oversee contractor activities, ensuring standards are met and issue Permits to Work
* Ensure all equipment operates to performance criteria and areas meet company standards
* Represent the company professionally to achieve high customer satisfaction
* Evaluate performance, ensure servicing and maintenance of contract equipment
* Engage proactively with clients, addressing concerns or escalating as needed
* Maintain awareness of contractual requirements and client needs
* Complete all administration tasks on time, ensuring accurate documentation and records
* Ensure H&S compliance, including risk assessments and COSHH
* Suggest improvements to enhance service delivery
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
* NVQ/City & Guilds qualification in carpentry, woodworking, or a related trade (or time-served multi-trade operative with strong carpentry and joinery experience)
* Recognised craft apprenticeship (preferred)
* IPAF/PASMA certification
* Full UK Driving License
* Extensive experience in plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance, including fault finding, maintenance, and installations
* Significant experience in reactive and planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
* Experience working in facilities management or building services within commercial properties
* Knowledge and compliance with Health & Safety procedures, including risk assessments and method statements
