Lecturer in Marketing
Full time, Permanent
Grade 7/8 (£38,249 - £55,755)
Abertay is a modern university with a global outlook, rooted in its local and national communities. We have made our mark with high quality, well-directed teaching and research, and a stimulating and enriching experience for our students.
Dundee Business School is one of four departments within the Faculty of Design, Informatics and Business (DIB). The Faculty was formed in August 2024 with Dundee Business School joining the other 3 existing departments: Games and Arts, Game Technology and Mathematics, and Cybersecurity. The Faculty is the home of Abertay’s degree programmes in Law, Accounting, Finance, Business, Management, Marketing, Human Resources, Cybersecurity, Applied Computer Science, Computer Games and Digital Arts. Abertay was one of the first universities in the world to offer degrees in Computer Games Technology and Ethical Hacking, and we are the international leader in these fields. With the addition of Dundee Business School into the Faculty, we are now working on what ‘world first’ we will undergo which makes this an exciting and dynamic time to join.
Reporting to the Head of Dundee Business School, you will help to contribute to the excellent teaching experience and impactful, leading-edge research and knowledge exchange within the marketing subject area. Whilst you would be primarily marketing, we do encourage cross-disciplinary subject knowledge and working, e.g. an entrepreneurship and/or innovation angle to marketing; or working across business analytics and Fintech within marketing.
In addition to the typical Lecturer role, we are interested in candidates who either have experience in and/or who are willing to engage in:
TNE partnership provision – in particular taking a lead to work across the Business School to build a better, more responsive working relationship for all parties.
Executive Education & Knowledge Exchange – both areas play a significant role in our transformation as a Business School
Technology & Innovation – are core to our new provision and programmes, and so we would welcome applicants with experience, either RKE, but in particular with practical, industry relevant experience tied to the marketing subject area.
The role requires a person who can work equally well independently and as a team, have a keen interest and enthusiasm for their subject area and be able to communicate that same knowledge and passion to a wider audience, using multiple mediums.
If you believe you have the skills and experience for this exciting and challenging role, please submit your application through our online recruitment system.
Please note that we will only accept applications through our online recruitment system.
