Job Overview
We are looking for a clinical support worker to be an active member of the multidisciplinary team on an acute cardiology ward. The successful applicant will work on a 36 bedded acute cardiology ward at James Cook University Hospital comprising of 27 beds on the main ward and a 9 bedded Cardio monitored Bay.
Please note if you do not have the qualifications or experience marked as essential for a Band 3 role, you will be appointed at a Band 2.
Band 2 requirements: willingness to undertake all relevant training and qualifications if wishing to develop into a Band 3 role.
Band 3 requirements:
* Numeracy and Literacy Level 2 or GCSE equivalent (A-C/ 4-9)
* Care certificate
* Short courses and completion of competency workbook equivalent to Level 3 in a range of patient and clinical care duties
* Equivalent knowledge and experience in a range of clinical care duties equivalent to Level 3
There is a clear framework to allow for postholders to develop from a Band 2 to Band 3 and this includes completion of the qualifications.
Main Duties of the Job
The successful applicant will be an active member of the multi-disciplinary team, undertaking all aspects of personal care, delegated clinical care duties, including clinical observations and the completion of assessments in relation to pain, nutrition, falls prevention, oral hygiene, pressure area prevention, V.I.P, moving and handling to provide healthcare and support that is individualised to the patient needs. The successful applicant will update and maintain accurate records of any care provision and update and escalate any concerns from their observations and activities to the appropriate registered professional. The successful applicant is expected to comply fully with all Trust policies and protocols, including those related to patient safety and the prevention of healthcare associated infections. They must also promote dignity, privacy, and respect, to deliver compassionate, safe, high-quality patient care. As a Trust employee, they will honour their work commitments, be reliable and trustworthy. They will uphold the Trust values; the Trust code of conduct will always display civility towards others.

Person Specification
Knowledge and Skills (Both)
* Insight into behaviours and skills of a carer and the need for effective teamwork.
* Awareness of GDPR and the need for confidentiality.
* Familiarity with current NHS and social care policies.
* Working knowledge of STHFT policies and procedures.
Qualifications & Training (Band 3)
* Numeracy and Literacy Level 2 or Maths & English GCSE A-C/4-9 or equivalent.

* Level 3 vocational qualification or completion of competency workbook equivalent to Level 3 in a range of patient and clinical care duties.
Experience (Band 3)
