SHEQ Advisor Salary details provided on application Location: Tipton Department: SHEQ Reports To: SHE Manager As a SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) Advisor - Operations, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of safety, health, environmental responsibility, and quality are maintained across all operations. You will play a key role in driving continuous improvement, ensuring compliance with regulations and best practices, and promoting a proactive approach to risk management. This role involves identifying risks, implementing preventive measures, and providing expert guidance to all levels of the organisation. Key Responsibilities: Implement and monitor safety, health, environmental, and quality standards across operations. Conduct safety assessments, training, and regular site inspections. Investigate incidents and utility damage, reporting findings and driving corrective actions. Promote safety culture through coaching, training, and behavioural safety initiatives. Develop and review risk assessments, method statements, and construction phase plans. Report on SHEQ performance and strategy to senior management. Support the development of safe excavation practices and compliance with relevant regulations. Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and inductions for site personnel. Ensure compliance with legislative requirements and industry best practices. Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders to ensure operational safety and efficiency. Qualifications & Training: NEBOSH Qualification (National General Certificate or Construction specific) – Desirable Energy & Utility Skills Register SHEA – Gas/Electric/Water Card – Essential National Water Hygiene (NWH) (EUSR) Card – Desirable PTLLS Qualification – Level 3 or above – Desirable NEBOSH Fire – Desirable EUSR Category 1 - Locate Utility Services (or equivalent) EUSR Category 2 – Implement Safe Excavation Practices (or equivalent) ProQual Level 2 – Utility Avoidance and Location of Buried Services in Construction Award Radio Detection Course Technical Skills & Experience: Experience in SHEQ management, ideally in Civil Engineering or Utilities. Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and industry standards (e.g., HSG47). Proficient in Genny & CAT assessments, CAT Manager, with the ability to train others. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to prioritise tasks and manage deadlines. Commitment to continuous professional development. Experience in risk assessment, incident investigation, and report writing. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
